The primary service we offer at Water and Earth Landscape Design is Outdoor Living Design. We work with 3-5 clients per month in the bay area that are looking to transform their current backyard from it’s current state to a cohesive idea and comfortable and beautiful place to entertain guests or relax with family.
Our thorough design process has been highly regarded with past clientele. While most designers locally only give their clients one opportunity to edit a design before its completion, we look at things a little differently. We believe that the design process should be a collaboration with our clients and as a result have an open stream of communication throughout the design process. We have a five to six step process that we take our projects through so that we can establish an initial concept, boil it down and then make it an actionable plan complete with contractors to execute the vision with our involvement throughout construction.
CONSULTATION/PROJECT DISCOVERY
WHERE DO I START?
So you know you need to do something but you aren’t sure what it is or where to begin? Are you not ready to commit to an Outdoor Living Design but you need help to get going in the right direction? We have a solution for that.
At Water and Earth Landscape Design we offer consultation services for homeowners that know they want to start moving towards a solution but don’t necessarily know what direction to go. After receiving some photos and videos of the space we will meet over a video conference to have a discussion about the problems to be addressed and the best solutions tailored to our conversation. As we talk through these issues in a live setting, once the meeting is over we will send you a meeting summary that consists of notes that we discussed so you can go back to reference at any time.
Should clients that have gone through this process later decide they would like to engage Water and Earth for our Outdoor Living Design service, the cost of the consultation will be deducted from the cost of the design project.

PROJECT OVERSIGHT
We’ve always said that designing spaces is easy but getting designs built is the hard part. As a result at Water and Earth we start engaged with our projects throughout execution to serve as project oversight as well as high-level project facilitators.
Not to be confused with project management, we stay a part of the project to make sure construction is going as planned and the space is being constructed in such a way that the original design integrity is protected. Should struggles arise with the construction progress due to contractor issues, material supply line situations or overall questions about the design, we are available throughout the execution to be available in any capacity.
Are you about to tackle a project that we didn’t originally design? We are happy to have a discussion with potential clients to see where we might be able to assist if you’re looking for help to tackle your outdoor living construction. Whether it’s helping you to find and qualify suitable contractors or just the engagement of a third party, we often work with clients and help them manage the expectations of the parties involved that are building out the projects on their property.

We have always had a fair amount of traffic from homeowners who already have a design or plan for their space but want the Water and Earth touch. Whether the design obtained from another designer isn’t making sense or some small areas of it need to be worked on, we are available to help our clients rework the idea so it is a better representation of their needs.
Whether a space needs to be seen in 3-D or needs to be tailored to be able to take advantage of local and sustainable materials, we are happy to help you make the changes needed to make the design actionable and help you get the project completed through our trusted network of specialty tradesman and service providers.
